A local group of cyclists meet weekly all year for various rides, from mountain biking to
road rides. If you are interested in
joining the group rides enter the forums and take a look at the
MCG Rides and Announcements. You can also
register
for a free account and chat with some of
the other Rancho Murieta riders. If you would like to send an e-mail to the founder of the club
Jason Zenker click on his name and fill out the e-mail form.
The rides usually consist of two to four riders as no schedule fits everyone. Winter rides are fewer in number for obvious weather
reasons; more rides are scheduled in better weather.

Mountain Bikers
Mountain bike rides typically last one-two hours, intermediate to advanced fitness and technical ability, and cover the trails
and fire roads surrounding our lakes and rivers. Most of the fire road terrain is hard pack dirt. However there are technical
areas that are fun even for the advanced rider. There aren't any long extened climbs but you need to have that short burst energy
combined with good balence and bike control to make it up the short but steep hills. The rides in this area can be as hard or as easy
as you and the group would like to make them.
Road Bikers
Road rides are typically 20-40 milers and are scheduled to start from South Murieta up Jackson Highway toward Ione and Plymouth
on back roads like Forest Home, Carbondale, Irish Hill, and Old Sacramento.
Carpool
With the forums anyone in the group has the ability to put a scheduled ride on the calendar. So if you are planning to ride in
Auburn and want someone to ride with post it in the rides section and someone may be willing to ride with you. Not to mention
you can have someone to help chip in on gas with the outrageous prices at the pumps nowadays! Feel free to post any ride that
you are going on whether it's with another group at a far away location or not. The ultimate goal is for riders in Rancho Murieta
to get together and ride!
